New Salads at the “Loop”

I went to the “Loop” restaurant today for lunch with some friends and I was very happy to see that they have a couple new salads.  I don’t usually get their salads because they tend to be high in calories, but they have a new Spinach Salad, it does come with bacon on it, but I asked for no bacon and I added grilled chicken.  I really liked it, very good!! They also have a new broccoli salad that looked pretty healthy also so; if you go to the “Loop” give one of these salads a try!

Busy Sunday!  I’ve been on the run all day!  I went to yoga, and then grocery shopping, now I am cooking my meals for the week.  I ran across a new item in the grocery store the other day, Ezekiel English Muffins.  I tried them yesterday, they were a lot like the bread, dense and pretty filling. I would for sure buy them again. 

I normally don’t complain, but Perdue who I love their chicken and it’s usually always good, has been putting some chicken in their packs, that I’m questionable about.  These two pieces of chicken breasts were in the same packet.  When I pulled out the smaller one, I was kind of surprised that Perdue would put that piece of chicken in along with the rest of their chicken breasts.  I hope this is not something they will continue to do. 

I’ve been working on a new “theme” for my blog, but I’ve been having some technical issues, hopefully it won’t take me too much longer! Off to cook some turkey and eggs!   I wish everyone a great weekend!! !~Betsy

Food Journal 3/23/11

I don’t have much time to blog tonight, I have a load of laundry to do, so this will be short and sweet!!  ;)

At the gym I worked out with my trainer for an hour, I went into the locker room to get something to eat (chicken), because I need to eat some protein in between working out with my trainer and doing cardio. There were some girls in costumes and I was sitting there listening to them talk about their routines, music, hair etc, so I asked them what they were doing and they told me that they were trying out for the “Roar”.   I thought that was pretty cool!  Interesting conversation! If I had more time and lived closer I would have watched them for a little bit.   Good luck to them!!  After I ate my chicken I went and worked out for a half hour on the ARC Trainer.   Well, I need to get my laundry done, so here’s my food journal…remember, “Dream BIG!”

Such a nice day today, I love this weather!  I went and ran the bridges tonight twice, my legs are sore from last night’s work out…so, after I post here, I’m going to go roll on a foam roller and stretch out really well.
